GLOCK Perfection — The beginning of a legend

About the book

The beginning of a legend

The part 1 of the book trilogy is opening the extraordinary story of Austrian engineer Gaston Helmut Glock and his revolutionary GLOCK 17 pistol! Soon after its release, it outperformed its competitors in every technical metric and, remarkably quickly by firearm standards, earned a firmly established place in the global firearms market.

You will be introduced to the first generation series of standard Glock 17 pistols. In addition, you will also be able to see prototypes and individual pre-production versions of the new pistol for the first time ever! You will also have the opportunity to get acquainted with those variants of Glock pistols that are not so common. Including one of the first Glocks intended for the Austrian Bundesheer, or the first Glocks for the Norwegian Armed Forces. Another interesting point is the mention of the little-known generations informally referred to as the 'plus' variants (Gen1 Plus, Gen2 Plus, Gen3 Plus). In Part 1, you’ll also have the chance to take a closer look at the Glock field knives issued to the Austrian Armed Forces even before the revolutionary pistol appeared, as well as the advanced folding field shovel and the brilliantly simple yet highly practical polymer belt hangers that actually pre-dated the field knives themselves.

“Put the future in the palm of your hand!”(Glock advertising slogan from 1986)

Part 1 provides the most detailed and extensive examination to date of the complete development process and the origins of this revolutionary weapon. It also describes the first generation of these perfect “Made in Austria” products in great detail.
